VYS0061 | Talking About Talking About Talking About UFOs
May 20th, 2026 | Season 4 | 2 hrs 1 min
aliens, buddhism, capitalism, conspiracy, cryptoterrestrials, disclosure, disinformation, extraterrestrials, larping, misinformation, occult, occult podcast, paranormal, peter levenda, psy-op, strange, supernatural, to the stars, uaps, ufos, ultraterrestrials, vayse, weird, weird stuff, weirdpod
The truth is out there... sometimes... maybe... well, Hine and Buckley just aren't sure. UFOs, UAPs, Flying Saucers, Alien Spacecraft, whatever you think they are, you don't know for sure - and if you think you do know for sure, it's a sure sign you don't.
What you do know for sure is that you are told a lot of different things about them by a lot of different people: abductees spinning stories of high strangeness, senators pressuring whistle-blowers for information in congress, devoutly religious authors telling tales of angels and demons, folklorists and scholars of comparative religion painting vivid pictures of ancient beings dressed up in the skin of Technicolor sci-fi nightmares... no-one agrees and everyone is out to prove that their interpretation is the right interpretation - but what does any of it actually mean?
In this episode Hine and Buckley don't analyse the verisimilitude of the stories or the veracity of the storytellers but instead examine the discourse around the phenomena or more accurately the discourse around the discourse around UFOs. The mechanisms with which people might think about this topic and the reasons that they may think in that way.
The conversation around UFOs is big business, a lot of people making a lot of money - but who are these people and what happens to that money? Where did it all start? Was it Peter Levenda that stealthily laid the ground work over the last 50 years to shape the UFO movement as we know it today? Why would people lie about this stuff? Why should you believe some conspiracy theorist warning you of the terrible dangers of the existential crisis that UFOs pose anymore than you should trust some conspiracy theorist warning you of the terrible dangers of vaccines and their link to childhood autism?... and if the people who are trying to take control of the discourse are lying, overly-gullible or deluded, then is there really any truth out there at all? VYS0057 | The Weird Review of the Year 2025 - Part Deux
February 11th, 2026 | Season 4 | 1 hr 33 mins
ufos, vayse, weird news stories, weird review, weird review 2025
As the second half of shit-show now know collectively as 2025 crashes and burns, Hine and Buckley read it its last rites as they prepare for the difficult delivery of a bouncing baby 2026.
Ploughing on through the relentless rain of crap that made up the news between July and December they witness the coming of the mysterious cosmic interloper of 3I/Atlas and the incoherent stream of endless nonsense that Avi Loeb chats about it, several more fantastic fungi, a troubled train driver with chronic insomnia, the completely sensible, benign and not-at-all-horror-movie-fodder thawing of ancient organisms from arctic ice, a genuine fake Bigfoot corpse... and despite sightings of triangular UFOs, Lockheed Martin's new drone and a tentacled alien potato in 2025 did humans become too boring for extraterrestrials to bother visiting us at all? (Recorded 26 January 2026)

VYS0056 | The Weird Review of the Year 2025 - Part 1
February 4th, 2026 | 2 hrs 8 mins
2025, aliens, ufos, vayse, weird review 2025, weird year
It's that time again - time look back at the year that was, and that was a year that was weird. Hine and Buckley have barely recovered from the horrific ordeal of looking back at 2024 but they bravely get their shit together just about enough to sift through the ragged tatters of weirdness that held together the fabric of reality of 2025.
The Vayse boys encounter the usual suspects: Lue Elizondo, Christopher Mellon, Eric Davis et al, and some new (to the Vayseverse) recurring characters: Mark Christopher Lee, Avi Loeb and the sinister genetics company Colossal Biosciences.
In this dizzying dance through to June of 2025 there are also highly strange encounters with egg shaped UFOs; wooly mice; twitchy dangling robots; foul mouthed relatives of his holiness the Pope; the wreckages of persistent bullshit-talking dullard, Elon Musk's childish, egotistical, spacefaring ambitions; soldiers on the moon... and some mother-fucking snakes on a mother-fucking plane... VYS0050 | One And The Same - Vayse to Face with Peter C Hine
May 28th, 2025 | Season 3 | 1 hr 41 mins
episode 50, ghosts, meta-episode, peter c hine, ufos, vayse
By some miracle Hine and Buckley have made it to episode 50 and to mark the occasion they welcome to Vayse a close collaborator and long time friend of the show, Peter C Hine. Peter is a podcaster, writer and musician from Manchester UK. Together with Stephen James Buckley he co-founded Vayse, a podcast about weird stuff, now celebrating it's 50th episode. The conversation flows from how Vayse was formed, how Peter first became interested in all things weird, why his magical practice is on pause, how deep disillusionment with the current occult scene runs, what does the future hold for Vayse and just how many time can he mention Six Ways, Hellier and Penny Royal in a single interview? (Recorded 22 May 2025)

VYS0047 | The Weird Review Of The Year 2024
January 29th, 2025 | Season 3 | 2 hrs 37 mins
ai, artificial intelligence, uaps, ufos, vayse, weird review of 2024, weird stuff
[Caution: This episode contains an extreme weariness for bullshit that some listeners may find triggering] 2024 was a tough year, weird but tough. And looking back over it doesn't make it any better. In what amounts to a rapid and inexorable descent into madness Hine and Buckley pick apart the weird and, frankly, fucking dystopian year that was 2024. Bouncing between jaded despair and hysterical mania the Vayse boys mull over the topics that dominated 2024: UFOs, Artificial Intelligence and Elon Fucking Musk. Whilst stumbling around in the intoxicating embrace of the seemingly endless darkness they also uncover strange stories of interconnected dreams, robot dogs with flame throwers, robot faces with living skin, bowls of goo with pong skills, plots to genetically engineer super-sheep, a surprising number of goblin attacks and perhaps, maybe, possibly a giant lake dwelling cow...? VYS0038 | Fuck Capitalism! - Vayse to Face with Rob Kristoffersen
March 13th, 2024 | Season 2 | 1 hr 49 mins
our strange skies, rob kristoffersen, uap, uaps, ufo, ufos, welcome ufo people
Unable to put off dedicating an episode to the UFO mystery any longer, Hine and Buckley welcome researcher, podcaster and writer Rob Kristoffersen. Rob is the creator and host of the incredibly popular podcast Our Strange Skies: UFOs Throughout History, co-creator of the web-comic Welcome UFO People and expert on all things extra-terrestrial, ultra-terrestrial, crypto-terrestrial and any other form in which the phenomenon may choose to manifest. Rob talks about his own weird experiences and Hine and Buckley waste no time in asking him the questions that keep them awake at night: What exactly is it that people are seeing when they see UFOs? Are UFO and alien encounters a range of different experiences and phenomena or are they all the same thing viewed through different lenses? What's the deal with Whitley Strieber and what the deal with Jacques Vallée? Is there a connection between UFOs and death? What's really behind the whole Disclosure movement? Which Cryptid has the best PR person? and what does Rob really think about capitalism...? (Recorded 4 March 2024)

VYS0035 | The Weird Review of the Year 2023 Pt.2
January 31st, 2024 | Season 2 | 1 hr 13 mins
2023, ai, artificial intelligence, uaps, ufos, weird year
Concluding their post-mortem of the bloated carcass of 2023 looking for any residual traces of weirdness Hine and Buckley witness it hurtling from June to December like a reckless driver, drunk on curiosity, swerving to avoid a shadowy figure that was never there, crashing through the windshield of wanton deception to land face down and muttering incoherently on the cold, hard tarmac of truth.
As they accompany this moribund year through the bardo they encounter David Grusch and Ryan Graves giving dubious, testimony about their UAP encounters, an unexplained encounter at the bottom of a well, a Russian man drilling into his own skull to try to control his dreams, a couple of dry little guys being dragged out before the Mexican Congress and the threat of desecration to a 30-year-old Vayse sacred text... VYS0030 | To Believe or Not to Believe - Vayse to Face with Emily Louise
November 15th, 2023 | Season 2 | 1 hr 12 mins
conspiracy theories, emily louise, sceptic, ufos, weird reads with emily louise
Possibly the weirdest thing that Vayse could do at this point is to interview someone who doesn't believe in any of this phenomena at all, someone whose no-nonsense approach to searching for the actual facts behind well-known events in fringe history and UFOlogy has earned her Youtube channel, tens of thousands of subscribers - it's British documentary maker and researcher Emily Louise.
Hine and Buckley find an unexpected amount of common ground with Emily as they discuss her journey from wide-eyed belief to pragmatic scepticism, what it is that makes human beings sometimes believe ideas that are provably untrue, which famous conspiracy theories Emily thinks probably do have truth to them and Vayse finally tackles (with the help of a hardened sceptic) the recent David Grusch revelations... (Recorded 17 August 2023)

SideVayse: SVYS003 | Anglezarke
May 24th, 2023 | Season 1 | 36 mins 44 secs
anglezarke, dogman, neolithic mounds, ric bennett, round loaf, sidevayse, ufos, vayse
In VYS0018, Hine and Buckley interviewed author and researcher Kathryn J Preston about her book, the 'LaManChe Zodiac" in which she described a terrestrial zodiac spanning three counties in the north of England. At the heart of this zodiac is Round Loaf, a man-made Neolithic mound constructed millennia ago on the stark moorlands of Anglezarke. According to Kathryn Preston's book, Ley Lines radiate from the mound into the surrounding country and Anglezarke has become a hot spot for UFOs, sightings of cryptids and other high strangeness. In this SideVayse, friend of the show Ric Bennett, a life-long resident of the area, recounts some of his own strange encounters and takes Hine and Buckley on a guided tour of this weird and uncompromising landscape. Recorded 6 May 2023.
